The More Things Change

Rule changes are nothing new to fencing. Here is an article from the October 1950 issue of American Fencing which shows some of the major rule changes that occurred up to that time. Adding the bib as target in foil is just the latest in a 100 year long set of adjustments.
The AFLA or Amateur Fencers League of America, was the original name of US Fencing. Its name was changed in 1983.
